- Medicare Compliance: As part of Medicare requirements, general information about your psychological care is typically forwarded to your doctor at the end of the 1st, 6th & 10th sessions, if you have been referred under a Medicare. Clients should inform their psychologist if there is particular information that they do not want shared with their doctor. Other reporting and correspondence criteria may apply for clients receiving psychology treatment under Worksafe, NDIS and other particular programs.
- Psychologists are required by law and the professional code of ethics to report information about their clients to relevant people and agencies should the psychologist have significant concern about a client’s or another person’s immediate risk.
- A cancellation fee from $60.00 applies for cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice. Additional late cancellation fees (up to the full standard fee rates may apply for repeated late cancellations).
- If clients have any concerns about the treatment they have received, they can contact the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency 1300 419 495, or the Australian Psychology Society 1800 333 497.
